I began using a proprietary, process-patented, form of cannabidiol (CBD) four years after being diagnosed with Adult Onset Muscular Dystrophy at age 42.
A result of atypical muscle loss across my body was episodic lower back pain. While a radical new diet helped control the muscle loss, after a few years I began battling Grade III and IV Pathological Spondylolisthesis, slipping discs, and spent two years visiting my naturopathic spine specialist every three weeks, hoping for a miracle.
As an Adult-onset Muscular Dystrophy patient, I was not a candidate for spinal fusion, was advised to be fitted for a cane, and started planning for chronic pain management.
My first lasting relief began in 2016, six weeks into daily administration of a low dose, CBDa product, that seemed safe without worrying about residual extraction solvents.
As of the latest update (June 2022), while the lost muscle has not returned, I am able to adapt and 'tone' my unaffected body to compensate, and I live an active, relatively pain-free, life (including plenty of rock scrambles up and down trails here in Bend, Oregon!)
My story is one of open-minded, physical healing, coupled with a deep dive through the myriad production methods for today's CBD; involvement within the U.S. Hemp policy making debate; and seasoned with CBD launches from seed-up production, to innovative product development and distribution.
